You may have noticed that I’m a bit obsessed with ancient monuments, portals, dolmen, tumulus, cairns, mounds, monoliths and menhirs; all that stuff. I’ve dragged my family to many a lovely, gnat infested bog in search of ye olde stones and jolly good fun it was too, and after therapy, they’ve mostly forgiven me. Mostly. I mean, one grumpy bull, just one. Sheesh.

Anyway, where was I? Oh yeah, Brittany looking at old stone stuff and crawling around in tombs like a bargain basement Indiana Jones or Lara Croft, whatever you prefer. It was grand, the people were nice and friendly and the food was fantastic if you are seafood inclined, which I am.
Beyond the obvious (burial places, dwellings, and temples) everything about these sites is conjecture. Stone is timeless, the how and the why our ancestors got to building (apart from the obvious), leaves a lot of space for the imagination to inhabit and I am here for that.
These places are myth engines, touchstones for the imagination. I’m not knocking more spiritually minded people, I write about magic and woo more often than I write shopping lists, but as much as I’ve tried very hard to use The Force I’m still as psychic as a brick.
I’m the third of the way through writing a book (yay!) and I’ve been dipping my toes in narrative work on an RPG computer game, which is in the very early stages of development. And that brings me to a small request.
I’ve been asked by the bright spark in the eye of a mad god behind the game if I would pass on a short questionnaire to thems what might be interested in a cool RPG, which I’ve got my glommy mitts on as lead writer or some such nonsense. So here’s the link folks, if you’re a gamer it would be simply spiffing if you could spare a few minutes to fill it in.

Happy Friday, folks, stay frosty.
